ScottishPower Pipe Band is delighted to announce the appointed of Jake Jørgensen as their new Leading Drummer with immediate effect.

Jake joins ScottishPower having previously played with Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band. In his first stretch he played with them for more than 10 seasons from 2001-2010 and during his time Jake won nine major championships, including two World Championship titles. He also won 19 major drumming prizes, including three World drumming titles, and seven RSPBA Champion of Champions awards for Best Drum Corps. Jake then took a spell as Leading Drummer of the Lothian and Borders Police Pipe Band, which disbanded at the end of 2012 when he then returned to Shotts. Jake is originally from Denmark, but is now settled in Edinburgh where he teaches drumming at George Heriot’s School, and has been a finalist at the World Drumming Solos.

Anyone who may have an interest in joining the Scottish Power drum corps (ideally with grade 1 experience, although not essential depending on ability) in this new venture, get in touch directly by emailing Jake directly at jake.joergensen@gmail.com
