Director of Piping

Colin MacLellan was born in Dingwall, Rossshire in 1958. The family moved to Edinburgh shortly afterwards in order for his father to take up the position of Chief Instructor at the Army School of Piping in Edinburgh Castle. He learned the pipes from an early age from John D Crichton at George Heriot's School, who was his principal teacher until around 1973 when the influence of father John A. MacLellan became predominant.

Principal Teacher

Willie Morrison was born and brought up in Locheynart, South Uist, and learned his piping from his grandfather, Donald John Morrison.

At the age of 22, Willie left South Uist where he was a crofter/fisherman to move to Ayrshire where he found work in the Johnny Walker Whisky Distillery and became a member of their famous pipe band.

Glenn BrownGlenn is a top solo piper whose competitive record speaks for itself: he's won the Gold Medal at the Northern Meeting, the A Grade March at the Argyllshire Gathering, and the Dunvegan Medal in Skye, plus of course, he took the Senior Piobaireachd at the 2017 Argyllshire Gathering.
